I Want To Combine My Cargo and Reverse Lights. Can I just jump a wire from the Reverse lights feed to the cargo light feed after the switch?

Thanks

You already described how to do it. Simplest would be to cut wire from the normal switch to make it just a reverse light though you could use diodes to keep both I bet. Point is doing so won't do a damn thing for visibility.

The "Damn" Word eh? This kind of thing may be a sign to some some they are not enjoying this. I am!

Gosh guys, I searched the net and there are others asking the same thing but I never seen any replies other than here that contain such sharpshooting. No worries.

There are other and better ways to do it I'm sure and the switches are ground types and if one does something wrong they screw with the BCM. So one needs to be careful.

I ask all around the net putting my eggs in more than one basket on this matter.

As for the reason.................. Drum Roll...............

I have in my garage a lift table I park my truck over. I love the setup. I have been doing this for about 16 years with every Silverado I have owned. I always back in and have a system to help me align the truck over it.

On my garage door I have a strap that hangs down with a piece of reflective tape on it.

On my rear spoiler I have a piece of the same tape facing the cab of the truck.

When I back in I align the two for a bulls eye execution.

I have to keep remembering to turn the "Damn" cargo light off. I have to keep reaching for the "Damn" cargo light button every time. Heh!

About leaving the cargo light on to time out in 20 minutes.

The truck sits for long periods of time. I know the "as shipped" parasitic battery drain on my truck is .044mA after all has gone to sleep. If I leave that button pressed, even though the light drops off 20 minutes later, there is an additional .024mA putting me over the .050mA rule of thumb exceptionable maximum.

For me it would be glee and joy to just have the "Damn" cargo light to actuate with the reverse circuit. I have seen other ways listed around the net but am not an electrician and am looking at every option I can find.

Thanks
