AutoCal in route!!!

Ordered my Autocal yesterday morning and received a email from Justin saying it was being shipped today. I know this has been beaten to death on here but excited. Hopefully this will fix the issue of my truck trying to turn my 35" tires and the constant downshifting on hills.....

What gears do you have? The gears would have quite a bit to do with downshifting a lot as well.

yeah, I got 3.42 gears. figured I would do tune first and probably gears after

Just remember you will need a retune after you regear. That way your speedo and odo register correctly again.

yeah already been pricing all that. Looking at about 1200 total for gears and install. That is for 4.11 gears which were suggested. What gears would you suggest? the truck has a 5.3 motor. I spend a lot of time on the highway so I would rather not get 6mph if you know what I meam

I would lean to 4.56. It will be slightly lower geared than it would have been with the factory gears and tires. I doubt you would see a mpg difference between the 4.11 and 4.56.

 

Either way you'll be happier and the tune will make a huge difference. Save yourself the trouble and do gears first.

yeah but what would the mpg difference be going from 3.42 to 4.56? I would think that would be pretty noticable

Got my tune installed today. Totally different truck! Very pleased

Glad you're happy with it, definitely my favorite thing I've done to this pickup. It really does turn it into a different animal.

I had a 09 with tune, intake, simple exhaust, and 4:56 with 35's.

 

Absolute way to go.

 

I did 4:11's in a ram back in 07, with same setup as above, not enough diff for the $.

 

Just my exper.
