Gear change?

You should test drive a 6.2L with 3.73

It's not a diesel but that extra power makes a difference towing.

I'd skip the 3.73 and go 4.10 if your doing gear change, I bet you get better mpg empty with 4.10 than. 3.42. It will run in v4 mode way more.

Why gm can't figure this out or give us the option of 4.10s again. Not everyone wants a diesel due to cost and not towing lots.

I agree. People think that 4:10's will kill the mpg, but it won't. Turning a few more RPM to keep the truck from lugging down, where the engine can make more power without having to work hard, may actually improve the overall avg mpg. And for the cost, going from 3:42 to 3:73 isn't worth it. If you're going to change them, go with 4:10's and get your money's worth, IMO.

Go with the 4.10 if you have 6 sp trans, unless you frequently run faster than 75-80mph. If running faster, perhaps go with 3.73. Your mileage may improve..

Anyone heard of any gear companies releasing gears for our trucks not using adapters from 2013 and down trucks? I tow my 20' enclosed trailer about 4-5 times a year and would love to go from 3.42 to 3.73. Even though my 6.2L has plenty of power, I think the added gearing would be beneficial and not harm fuel mileage when not towing.
