I had this recall work done about 2 months ago, but tonight, my wife pulled up and was on an incline. She kept the truck running and all was good. She actually got out of the truck and walked up to the house and then walked back. She then decided to turn the truck off, and when she did , as soon as she turned it off, it rolled backwards about 2 inches. She was standing outside and just reaching over to turn it off.

I wonder if it is just a fluke that my recall work didnt take, or a bigger issue. i will be calling my dealer tomorrow

It sounds like your parking break wasn't set and that's just the normal slack in the driveline.

Hey djayh20,

I see you're concerned about whether recall repair was performed correctly and possibly caused this incident. Did you already reach out to your dealer and make them aware of this? Feel free to send a PM if you need further assistance getting in contact with them. I'll be on the lookout for any updates.

Sincerely,

That's just from not having the parking brake engaged. It's normal for it to roll a little when it's not set. That's why anytime I'm on any incline (even a small one) I set the brake. It helps take stress off the driveline. I sometimes automatically do it without thinking, but that probably comes from the fact my 1st vehicle/truck was a manual and I used to set the parking brake and put it in a gear when I parked it.

I set my parking brake every time I exit the vehicle. I've done this in every vehicle ever. I've never understood why people treat a parking brake like it's a bonus feature on a vehicle. It's there for a reason folks. My dad never sets his and it drives me up the wall. I don't let him ever drive my truck without drilling into him that he needs to set the parking brake. At a minimum, setting it prevents un necessary stress on the driveline as others have said.

I have contacted my Dealer, and have set up an appointment a week from Tuesday to get this looked at.

Also, setting the Emerg Brake would solve the issue, but I don't want my wife to forget to set it and the truck fall out of gear and something bad happen. This wasn't happening just because she took her foot off the brake. She had been out of the vehicle for several minutes when it moved.

I will see what my dealer has to say about this.
