4x4 springs in a 2WD Z71

I just purchased a 2014 Z71 2WD and want to level it. Has anyone changed out the 2WD front springs and replaced them with the 4WD springs? I did this on my last truck (Nissan Titan).

From my understanding the 2wd and 4wd Z71s have the same springs.

My truck isn't z71, but it is 4wd, I have about a 2" rake front to rear. (I measured from floor to fender)

Mine definitely has more rake than a 4wd. It's close to a 3" rake. i know I can just get a leveling kit to get the job done but I would feel better about installing larger factory springs and only having to put a 2" leveling kit to be completely level. Right now a 2.5" kit wouldn't completely level it.

lol wow.

To the OP I am also pretty sure that your z71 2wd have the same springs as a z71 4wd. I put a 2" r.c. level on my truck and I still have about 1" of rake. However if you really want to put in a 4wd front springs in your truck to see if it works, while I have not done it or seen it done im pretty sure that it will work. Best way to find out if the springs are the same is to look up part numbers. GL

It would be cheaper and easier to just install a leveling kit. Pretty sure just swapping spring wont give you any lift.

Unless they have changed for 2014, the 4wd uses torsion bars and the 2wd uses coil springs. Don't think they can be interchanged.

2014 1500 2wd and 4wd are both coil over shock front suspensions.

NNBS HD's still use torsion bars (same frame/chassis/drivetrain as the 11-13's)

they are the same and the 4x4 has almost as much rake as the 2wd. if the truck sits exactly level, it looks as if the front is higher to the eye. i went with a 2" and it looks level, but shows 1" difference from front to back.

My 4x4 sits 36/38 on stock tires and suspension. I don't know how a Z71 4x4 sits but I have a feeling its about the same.

Also, I see guys here in ATL selling brand new takeoff Z71 springs/shocks for about $80 for fronts. Check ATL craigslist, he had front and rear ranchos.
