Lurch after Park

At work our parking lot is sloped...not severely...it is a parking lot after all. The weather is shitty so I put the truck in Auto 4wd...I have had all the recalls done. When I park on a slope...I put in park, let my foot of the break and shut the truck off. When the lights on the dash go out you feel something slip or disengage and the truck lurches forward an inch or two...it scares the shit of you and your passengers who are already half out the door.

Can anyone test this? I'm going to take it in but I was hoping someone else had experienced this. My wife and I had a long talk and we've about had it... this might be the final thing that forces me into a Ford.

Thanks,

Chris

Try using the parking brake, may be driveline slop or the parking pawl did not latch fully at first.

It's everytime it's in Auto 4wd. It creeps forward after taking my foot off the break, like normal...but as soon as it "powers down"...away she goes. I'll try the parking break but I'm concerned about the lurch...never have I had a vehicle do this.

Auto or manual, I always use the e-brake. Second nature from doing it so much. You just never know when your car/truck is going to do something you do not want it too.

I've noticed at certain times on my sloped driveway that it lurches forward a little bit, but i noticed the same thing on my 2005 ford five hundred so I figured it was always normal.
