Added keyless entry to work truck!

I was getting my oil changed at my local Chevy dealer and asked the parts department if they could look up a keyless entry option. I have a 2014 silverado 2wd work truck.

 

The parts manager looked up my truck by vin and determined that the Tpms module was the same as the keyless entry module. He determined that part number

13577771 should work. He then had a lead tech give it a try and he had it programmed in minutes! List on the part is 73.69.

 

I hope this helped all the guys like my who have company trucks without keyless!

I am looking to get this done! I already have a brand new key fob, but was told I do not have the right RPO codes or whatever. Can it still be done? There has to be a way to make it work!

Passat774, do you know if you have WT1 or WT2? Also, what dealership helped you with this?

I am a 12v installer and have done this on several work trucks while installing remote starters. Another option if dealership pricing is too expensive or if you wanted to add a remote starter at the same time.

 

Benefits of going aftermarket vs oem is better range, 2way notification if someone is trying to break in, etc.

Yeah... But it usually ends up being a hack job!

Cant argue with that, ive seen alot of bad install jobs in my time. You gotta find a reputable shop with installers that enjoy their jobs.

 

Keep in mind that even gm certified techs are also capable of doing this as well. My cousin had his headlight tsb done and i checked over their work. The tech didnt remove the air box, ripped the headlight guard to get to the bulb, didnt reinstall the bulb cover, didnt even lock the headlight bulb into place bc he couldnt get his fat hand past the air box lol

I talked to Mac Haik Chevrolet in Houston. The looked up my VIN and said it could be done for $150. I will report after they do it.
