Holes in Bed Liner for Movable Tie Downs

Hi all,

Been lurking here for a few weeks and this is my first time posting. I have read a number of very interesting posts and I've seen some great pictures!

Last week I bought a 2014 LT 1550 CCSB. I had to bring it in to service yesterday because I needed a key cut since they only gave me one key when I took delivery. They were also supposed to straighten out my factory drop in bed liner since it was warped and partially blocking the left bed light.

When I went to pick up the truck, I found that it had been adjusted, but now one lip it was jammed up on the side of the truck in an unacceptable way. The dealer promised to replace my bed liner with a new one. They said they'll need to let it sit out in the sun to let it expand before installation. I don't care what they do...I just want it to fit properly!

On to my problem...I already ordered bed mounted tie downs (part # 23146899) and I'm having a hard time deciding whether to install them prior to getting my new bed liner. In shopping for the truck initially, I thought I saw a 2014 High Country with these tie downs already installed with a bed liner. It seemed like the holes in the bed liner might have been from the factory, but I can't remember 100%. I found 2 part numbers for short bed liners 23423549 (no bed tie downs) and 23458538 (with tie downs) here: http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado-1500-pickup-truck/accessories.html. Is this referring to the covered holes tie downs at the bottom of the bed (which I have) or the tie downs at the top of the bed?

Did anyone get a GM factory bed liner that already has holes for the bed liners at the top of the bed? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like there is a factory bed liner with holes drilled for the upper tie downs and I'm pretty sure that's what I want...

I bought my bedliner slightly used from a local spray liner shop, and it has all the holes for the upper tie downs.

I then found someone on Ebay that sells plug covers to fit those holes (3.5 inch diameter I think). My truck came with 4 upper tie downs, but I wanted to plug up the remaining holes.

There are two bed liners for our trucks. One with no holes and one with the holes precut, this one also has some large rubber gromits you can install over these holes. The non pre-drilled one does have dimples in the areas were the hole would go, you would have to get a large hole saw drill bit and do it yourself though.

Similar thing happened with me too, took it to Gateway buick and had the wrong bedliner installed. Not only was the wrong one installed it looked like shit. It was warped around the edges and didn't even sit right. Had to go back and get it replaced with the right one. Turns out the tech who took my original order wasn't even aware there were two different versions of it.

I purchased enough of the tie downs to fill all 9 holes. It's excessive, but I want the flexibility and I found a good deal on them. If I end up not using all of them I'll order some covers.

Yes, I have the one with the dimples but I don't want to bother with drilling them out if there is a GM factory part with holes precut. Thanks for the confirmation. I'll definitely get the dealer to order that one.

I got the one with the dimples. I had the four tie downs installed all ready. I don't plan on moving them around so I only had to drill four 2" holes. I didn't want nine holes in top of liner. Plus I would have had to drill them to 3 1/2".

Not sure if you can still get a liner with the upper holes predrilled anymore. The bottom tie down holes will be drilled and you get four rubber plugs for them.

I don't know what part numbers translate to which liner but I had one installed about 2 months ago, while we were doing the paperwork for my 2014 dbl cab, LTZ.

Around the upper perimeter of the liner are series of pre-cut 3"+ holes. The holes are covered by pop-in / pop-out covers. They are round and made of a more pliable plastic than the liner. You can pop them out with a small screwdriver or even your fingers on a nice sunny day. When the truck was ready, I saw they installed the tie down hooks in the spots I asked for and I was given a small bag of the removed covers in case I decided to change them around.

In the bottom perimeter of the liner, in each corner, there are holes to allow you to reach the factory built-in tie downs. Each of these are covered by a round cover that swivels out of the way on a screw. You can keep them covered and keep water etc. out when your not using them.

They never mentioned part numbers while talking about the liners. I just heard the accessory installer ask the sales man if they were putting in the "good liner" or the "cheaper one." He told him the good one ($495.00) and that was that. When I got my 2013 Silverado about 16 months ago, I remember the liner was about half that price. So your dealer my have more than one model lying around. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the details. My liner has the 4 lower holes to reach the factory built-in tie-downs, but it doesn't have the upper ones. I gave my salesman the part number which I believe matches your liner and he said he would order that as a replacement for the original defective liner. Thanks again for the confirmation.
