I like vettes just fine , I just don't buy the hype, servos don't get bigger area in the same housing , I'll have to research this thing , I rebuilt a few 60s ,

Sorry mr too tall if I struck a nerve , we cant get under rocks at this time of the year ..... It's to cold outside lol

I was only having a convo about it , sorry to all,

Well I took a look and can see the difference in the servos , $17 , worth it ,

I was thinking of another servo ,

All good

Instead of arguing with 20 people, google vette servo. Then crawl back under your rock.

He's still smart enough to realize that a servo from a Vette or what ever won't fix a worn out transmission. It'll only delay the blow up.

But for the reason you need it (to screw other people) it'll work just fine.

So go for it and don't ask for help if you don't want it.

It's been doing this for 80,000 miles. Now, it's just worse, and more consistent. And trading it in to the dealer isn't screwing anyone. They'll only give me $1000 for it anyway. Privately, I can probably get $5K

I threw a can of seafoam in there today. Seems a little better.

The way you say it here...

As long as it shifts good enough to trade it in to the dealer !!!!! :driving:

...it is.

Good luck.

I got news for you. When you trade a car in, with excess of 60,000 miles. They don't look at it, they don't test drive it. They have no plans on selling it. They know it's being wholesaled for bottom dollar. It's done all day long, so, NO, it ain't screwing any body.

You obviously have no idea how the auto industry works.

If I wanted to screw someone, I'd sell it privately, with out mentioning tranny problems.

Another 1000 miles on the tranny. Still going ! The sea foam made a major difference. Now that the holidays are over, I can hopefully get the vette servo in there.

I would pull your 1-2 accumulator to see if it is cracked, it's easy to do in the pan, when one cracks, you get a slipping 1-2. Also see if the Vette servo helps, it may allow for more apply pressure. More than likely the 2-4 band is toast, along with the reverse drum. If you just want to limp a few more months, dump a couple bottles of lucas trans fix in and keep limping it along, but it's probably toast.

The transmission is still holding on. It actually stopped slipping. There must be something in there that was sticking, and now it's not.

I have a 2003 Yukon 5.3L 4x4 with 95,000 miles 3.73 gears.. The tranny fluid was changed at 35K and 70K. It has started slipping on the 1-2 shift but it feels like the throttle powers back a little and then applies again once the shift is complete.

I am wondering it this is related to the trans or the electronic throttle programing? I found the servo tip here and may install the Vette Servo when I change the oil next time. Due now for me. Any thoughts?

Mine has this same slow shift on part throttle and on full throttle. Otherwise works perfectly, I am hoping the tranny is not going out.

My 2001 Denali lost a trans at 59,000 miles, 3.42 gears, my 95 suburban trans went 170,000 before failing with 3.73 gears.. I also had a 2002 Tahoe that was sold with 142,000 on it with the OEM tranny still working great but it had 4.10 gears and I think they help the tranny life but taking some load off.

I threw some seafoam in my tranny, and now it's much better. I was ready to throw in the towel....

I will bump in and offer a promo for the Corvette Server. My 03 Yukon Tranny was slipping and shifting very slowly from 1st to 2nd. I would help it shift by backing off the gas hoping I could nurse it a little farther before installing a new tranny. This is a 4x4 with 3.73 gears and the 5.3L engine.

After reading on the forums a little I decided to try the Vette Servo. $20 bucks delivered to my house seemed way to cheap to possibly work but a tranny is $2,000 so I tried it.

At first it improved the shift slightly but I was not happy. As I drove it more and more it kept feeling better.

After 2 mos use and 2,000 miles the tranny is fantastic. Shifts better than I ever remember. I don't even think about it anymore because if shifts absolutely perfect. Soft throttle or hard throttle it shifts exactly perfect.

The shifts are correct, and fast, not harsh at all and I am pretty picky.

I can't express how glad I am that I tried this fix. Easy install, less than two hours from roll in till clean up was done. I raised the Passenger side of the truck about 6 inches higher than the Drivers side to help keep the oil in the tranny while I installed the servo. It worked, maybe one spoonful of oil leaked and that is all.

I spent far more time reading the instructions than actually doing the install. I owe the forum for this easy fix.

Thank You and I hope this helps others.

PS: I sold my 2002 Tahoe with 150,000 miles and the tranny was doing the same slow 1-2 shift. I bet this would have fixed that tranny also.

I put a tranny in my 2001 Denali with only 60,000 back in 2004. It had the slow 1-2 shift and I had 2 boys in High School at the time. I bet this would have fixed that tranny prior to the boys hot rodding and destroying that tranny. Full throttle shifts with the 6.0L and a slipping tranny are a bad combo but we were all young once.

My trans is slipping between 1st & 2nd. It's been doing this for many years. I have the servo, just never installed it. Amazing the trans hasn't blown up yet. I just lift when it slips.

1 year later, actually many many years. This tranny is still slipping between 1st & 2nd gear. Hasn't blown up yet.
