2003 Yukon Denali. 170,000 miles.

The trans is slipping between 1st & 2nd gear. Now it's bad. It has been doing this intermittently for the past 80,000 miles !!!!! I kid you not. Most times, it's a mild slip. Then it would go away for months. Now it's back, and it may be time to have it fixed.

No one believes me how long this has been going on. I used seafoam in the past, and it helped a bit. I changed the tranny fluid at 80k, and at 120K. The last tranny fluid change seemed to help. But now it's real annoying.

Would a vette servo do any thing ?? It's only 1st & 2nd gear.

The corvette servo provides more apply pressure to the 1-2 and 2-3 bands. For $15 it's worth a shot to put one in and try. It might prolong the life and save you from a rebuild for a little while. In spite of govtech4's opinion, the corvette servo is a very nice mod to any 4L60 or 700R transmission.

+1 on the Corvette servo's effectiveness.

However, to be fair, 170k is a decently long life for the 4L60E trans. As mentioned, its a solid upgrade for the price and may prolong the inevitable. But don't expect it to cure your problems permanently.

How does a sealed disc "provide more apply pressure"? Does the little disc tell the the pump to ramp up pressure somehow ???? Come on ...

And there is only one band in a 60 ,

Try again

Guys are bonkers and hear the word vette and ya go nuts , come on ....

The vette servo mod been around for ever. I know the F-body guys use it, and the B-body guys too. Mr. govtech doesn't seem to like corvettes for some reason.

Most the LS1 F-bodies already had the so called "vette" servo. Yet people still spend the $30 on one. As for the slipping, the servo will not stop it. Time for a rebuild before the whole thing goes to hell

The LT1 crowd was big on the vette servo.

But that was back when it was the L98 and LT1. In the past 18 years the servo has been the same. But in a nutshell, 170k. This transmission has lived it's life. Mine is at 160k. I am counting the days til mine goes. On a 60/65 series in a truck, anything over about 125k is a crapshoot. Anything over 150k is on borrowed time

I like vettes just fine , I just don't buy the hype, servos don't get bigger area in the same housing , I'll have to research this thing , I rebuilt a few 60s ,

Sorry mr too tall if I struck a nerve , we cant get under rocks at this time of the year ..... It's to cold outside lol

I was only having a convo about it , sorry to all,

Well I took a look and can see the difference in the servos , $17 , worth it ,

I was thinking of another servo ,

All good
