Interior lights

I have a 2014 Sierra and want to add lights to the inside when the courtesy lights are on. I'm not sure where to splice into to get power. I would like them to come on as they do now. Key off or door open and fade out as they do. I was thinking of mounting them on the doors under where the door handles are. That way when the door is open it would give you light to get in and light up my tube step. I was going to install under dash but that would not help out side. Also what is the light in the overhead console where the glass case holder is? It's on when the truck is running and the other courtesy lights are off.

Go to www.gmupfitters.com Then Body Builder Manuals, Light Duty 2014, C/K Full Size Trucks, Electrical- New 2014 LD Pickups Only, pages 198, 199. Looks like you want the gray wire circuit 157

There is info on the K2 trucks in that topic. Also it's the gray wire no matter what year.
