King Shocks road test

I've had the King shock set on my truck for about a month now. I like the ride on the street. I had not been able to try them off-road until yesterday. Well, technically, it was dirt roads. Some good dirt roads and some bad ones. I put probably 60-70 miles on the truck on these roads on a quail hunt in southern AZ.

The shocks rode exceptionally well. Even washboard areas were more tolerable. I think these shocks outperformed the Bilstein 5100s on my 08 truck. Are they worth $2300? My opinion is that the Bilstein 5100 is a better value. But these are a bit better.

The furthest mountain in this picture is where I drove the dirt roads and trails from

I've thought about getting fox or king shocks, but could never get over the price. It is good to hear there is a cheap option out there that is still worth the money, with the 5100's… But the King's do look cool in the wheel well…

I don't know. I assumed they were over the counter catalog valving.

May be the main option. I was researching them a lot awhile ago and was getting into the different valving options. I'm not a baja racer, so I figured factory setup would be good enough for me if I went that route.

In talking to the salesman in person, I got the impression the target market these were designed for is guys like me and you...street and trail.

That's what I figured. And it makes the most sense. I got lost in some "can't leave well enough alone" threads on the ol interwebs.
