The tire size struggle

As much as a hate to make a "will this size fit my truck" thread, I'm looking for some input. I installed the RC 2.5" front, 1" rear kit on my double cab. I want something close to a 33x12.50. I know that i can get 33x12.50-18 but they are way more expensive than a metric alternative for some reason. I've basically decided i want either 305/60-18, 305/65-18, or buy 17's and run 295/70-17. I think i'd rather stay with 18's, and will be buying Helo's. In a 17, they have a 0mm offset while the 18's have a 21mm offset. My main concern is 305/65 willl rub too much and 305/60 will look too short. I'd like to keep a wider tire. Anyway, i'm just looking for opinions and any input, especially if you're running one of these tires sizes. Seems most guys are running 20's with a level and i don't want 20's. here's the wheels and my truck for some reference.

Edit: also looking to run all terrains, as i really don't need M/T's. If not for that, I'd probably run 295/65-18, but cannot find many all terrains in that size.

I'd definitely suggest getting what you want. It is a big investment. I haven't seen anyone running the 305/65r18 but your best bet would probably be to check out all the setups with the 305/55r20. Look at their wheel offset and clearance then just keep in mind your tire size is just a bit taller.

Thanks. I still am unsure of what tire size but I'm pretty set on those wheels. I'm just unsure if 305/60 will look big enough, because if they looked good I'd pull the trigger on 305/60 Terra grapplers

Ive got a 15 double cab, I'll be getting my 2.5 RC front only Thursday and 305/60r18 pro comp at. So I will post a pic as soon as I can, but I can tell you I had a set of those wheels on my f150 and if you run in salt the black comes right off.

Make a photo bucket account. You an upload them right on your smart phone or computer. Then copy the image (IMG) code and paste it in your reply

A 33x12.50 will fit on a stock 18 x 8.5, 5.5" backspace wheel, without rubbing. If you go to a 18 x 9 aftermarket wheel. Get close to the same backspace. I used a 18 x 9, 5.75" backspace with a 33 x 12.50 and have no rubbing, but it's very close at full lock. A 305/65 will likely rub and require trimming for full lock.

If you want to go to a 34", you have to give up a good bit of width. Some of the guys here have 34" tires on a level. I think I saw 275 width. Otherwise you may have to trim.

There's nothing new under the sun, and there's no free lunches.

Thanks. I'm leaning towards 305/65 because I think I will be unhappy with a 305/60. However, I still could get 17s and run 295/70/17. Still unsure.

What about a 295/70/18?

That's over 34" tall correct? And still pretty wide. I like 295/65/18s also, but really leaning towards nitto Terra grapplers and they are not in that size
