vled LMZ led headlights

Hey guys,

 

I ordered the Vled lmz kit from vleds.com. now I'm wondering, since I have the sle headlights, am I gonna run in to trouble with DRL function? Or does the LMZ kit remedy this?

I've seen LED replacements on Amazon and when you look at the "Questions & Answers" some will work with DRL's and some won't.

 

I'm sure VLEDS.COM been asked this question before ... You might just shoot them an email to customer support.

If the LMZ kit comes with some kind of capacitor, you should be ok. A capacitor is what smooths the pulse width modulation.

 

Someone else on the forum has tried running LEDs as headlights and confirmed this to be true ... And if I recall correctly, he also got them from VLEDs-- although it may have been a different generation of bulbs.

Please keep us updated on these LED's. At some point I would like to upgrade from Halogens to LED's and I may be interested in these.

Curious as well. I now have the LMZ kits for both my high beam and fogs. When I spoke with VLED, they did not recommend these for my low beam if I wanted to retain the DRL function.

just talked to jake @ vled.com. he stated that if voltage to DRL is 7.5 or greater they will work fine, if not we sle guys are gonna need a relay and capacitor or booster and relay to run these lights correctly...anybody know stock voltage numbers for DRL?

I imagine were gonna need something else anyway due to the PMW operation of the DRL...

Well, I finally got my LMZ kits in for High Beam and Fog light. These look great and are nice and bright. I wish the HID ( VLEDS ) would match better, but it is what it is. Atleast if I can now see a hell of alot better during night time driving.

Yes, when I spoke with VLED's, they said if I want to retain DRL's, I had to go HID.

Here are a few shots I just took.

 

First set of pictures is Low Beam HID 5k 35 watt VLED'S

 

2nd set of pictures is Low Beam and LMZ 5k 25 watt Fog Lights.

 

Picture doesn't show how wide this beam really is, but it lights up a ton.

 

Last set are the Low beam, Fog lights, and the High Beams (LMZ 5k)

 

As the last picture kind of shows, they are all close to matching perfectly, but there is a variation in the LED vs HID.

 

Overall I will say I'm very happy with how the lights look, produce and the craftsmanship.

Your projectors are really out of alignment
