So, my LMZ fog light took a dump today. Bulb was lighting up a faint blue glow and nothing... more to come after I look into it

i've been looking at other forums about these lights and i'm starting to get cold feet... i hope the guys that already have these can get some shots of on road performance before i install... i know these will be brighter just looking at them but im worried about how much light it produces on the road.

Yeah i know. i've seen those but im talking about light output farther than 10 feet away. i guess we'll just wait and see what yall guys say about them. mine are due to be in tomorrow

If the weather holds up I'll have mine in this evening, time permitting. Seems like a straightforward install so I'm hoping it doesn't take too long. I'll be sure to get pics while driving as well.

If these don't satisfy then I'll be getting the rigid dot pods to help until summer. Hopefully by then recon will have smoked or blacked headlights for sale. I went this route hoping the output would be bright enough and bc I really like the idea of not having to change a bulb hopefully ever again.

I know I was out in the woods with no street lights this past weekend, and a combo of tinted windows and poor lights made it hard to make turns as I couldn't see where I was turning too.

Install itself will be extremely easy. Making sure that the bulbs are in the best position possible for the best output possible. That is what will take the longest time I would think. Mine should arrive Wednesday, but just like all my truck parts, they are arriving at home, 2 hours away from where I am during the week [emoji19]

Edit: once mine come in I will try to get some actual on road shots like I did with my Rigid DOTs. I'll just stick my phone out the sunroof again lol.

Also, not sure if y'all are interested in this, but I have a set of FXR 3.0 projectors sitting in my closet at home just waiting for the summer when they will be retrofitted in. I plan to get some D2S collars for the LMZ bulbs so that I can see how well they perform in there compared to the OEM projectors. When I finally get around to ordering the collars and testing the difference I will let y'all know.

Just thought I'd let y'all know incase anyone was wondering how the LMZs would compare when used in a better projector

That's what I'm planning to do, I'm just hoping recon or another aftermarket brand come out with a good looking headlight with a nicer projector already in it so I can just add the bulbs. I Dont trust myself enough to tear the stockers up, so wanting to retro on a spare set. Can't ship to fastheadlights or whatever bc it is my daily driver and can't go without.

Edit- basically goina let mike1220 blaze the path and wait for his results lol!

Yea mine is my DD especially during the summer so it'll be tough going without it. Just gonna have to catch a ride with someone to work for that time period I guess haha. But you may be able to find someone closer to you who is willing to do a retrofit OR if you could find a local shop that does headlight work (such as installing halos) you could contact them and see if they will open your headlights for you and possibly retrofit or you could get them to open them, let you take them home, you could do retrofit, and then you could seal them back up yourself or bring them back to be resealed. I considered asking a local shop to do that but then I figured I'd rather let Phil do it cause he's got some really cool mods coming out soon for these headlights so Ill let him do some of those at the same time.

Just finished getting them installed. Ran out of day light but it wasn't tough. The hardest part was messing with the airbox.

There is plenty of room with the stock airbox for these to fit. Not sure where I'm going to finally mount the control boxes yet. Right now I have them stuck with the double sided Velcro tape strips. Driver side is on the wall of the spare battery spot, passenger is wedged in beside the rear of the headlight. I don't like how the wires are kind of crimped coming out of the passenger side, but the wire from the light to the truck is extremely short, therefore mounting options are limited without adding more to the oem connector.

I'll get some install pics in the daylight tomorrow evening if I can. Going to head out after dinner and get some driving shots. I may have to readjust the bulbs as well as I just adjusted them both according to Jon A's post and will do further adjusting from there.

I will say my initial thoughts/impressions were "wow!!these are way brighter than the stock bulbs!" We will see how the distance is and if further adjusting is needed of the bulbs.

Super easy install though minus that damn airbox. Pics to come soon!
