Lol I had to put that in to temporarily ruin hopes and dreams hahahaha!

Can't wait till you guys get them installed, I'm pleased with them, they have exceeded my expectations for a LED bulb by far! I didn't get flashed any with them last night, but they seemed to wonder a little too far over into the other lane. Not down the road but right when an oncoming vehicle had its front bumper passing mine, I could see eyes reflecting. I don't know if that's normal or not as I never have really looked for it until now. So I may definitely need to adjust the bulbs some.

Are the Rigid's a pretty straightforward install with the brackets and hooking them up? I might go ahead and order them today.

I gotta say I was nervous hooking these up, but they both turned on first try when I was testing them. It's cool they are instant on too and don't have to heat up like an HID.

I had a shop install my rigid's. but yes i believe its pretty straight forward. i bought this harness so it would connect to the oem plug so they wouldnt have to cut up the oem plugs. you do have to cut out the factory fogs though.

Great. Now I have a box of fxr 3.0s and 50w 6k hids that I want nothing to do with... I don't think I need anything more than Skeeters setup.

I do agree with Danger that the high beam is still a bit weak. I guess with out adding any light and just adjusting existing lumens there's only so much that one can get. I think a 10" spot bar in the center cutout on my GMC tied into the high beams will give me the mountian/back road performance I am looking for...

Great install! Can't wait for Mike to do his and show WITH the DOT fogs... They probably aren't necessary but I'm putting mine on just for a back up!

I have some FXRs as well in my closet at home. With some of the upgraded 50W HIDs. I don't really want anything to do with the HIDs anymore lol. But I have plans to get a D2S collar for the LMZ and compare the output in the FXR to the OEM projector to see if it's still worth the upgrade [emoji106]

Wanna sell them?

I'd be interested in selling the hids for now. As far as the projectors, I think I am going to wait for Mike to do the comparison on the housings with the LMZs. I suppose I could get a halogen bulb for the fxrs and snap a few shots...

I honestly don't think it's goimg to be worth the hack job on my housings to do the retro. The pics from Skeeter looks sufficient for me.

Any other pros or cons to the projector retro I'm not considering???

There isn't a halogen D2S replacement available, so you'd end up using an H1 bulb with a base attachment - so right there you're going to be unimpressed with the results.

That being said, I've had quite a few different retrofits in my trucks over the last few years. My F150 had a set of FX-Rs and now sports EVOX-Rs, both of which are amazing projectors.

The foreground with the LED lights is the issue, as having to much light cast directly in front of you lowers your overall night vision and causes unnecessary pupil dilation. Cast the light out into the distance where it's usable, don't light up right in front of you - if something is there it's too late.

I haven't had a single issue with my HIDs and I'm very pleased overall. I will be purchasing a second set of headlights to toy but for now I'm quite happy.

I highly suggest the Rigid OEM foglight buckets, and the OEM or even Driving light pattern D2 Duallys. Adding the diode for highbeam use of the fogs, coupled with the Rigid lights and you're in a world of driving pleasure.

Well I tried installing my lights tonight. Got the driver side in pretty easy. Passenger side I couldn't get finished. Don't have hardly any room to work with. Probably going to have to remove the airbox. Looks like I'm going to have finish tomorrow Mike you have any luck?

Still stuck at school, my lights are at my house, 2 hours away :banghead:

So I won't get to do anything until tomorrow barring nothing comes up that I have to attend to tomorrow afternoon.

I don't see it humanly possible to get it in without removing the airbox man. Just yank on it real hard after disconnecting your maf sensor or whatever it is and the hose.

Mike U need those t/tr or m/w classes, I hated when the only time a class was offered was m/w/f, and I hated 6:30-9's for the most part too lol. Or just find someone near school with a house and start shipping there haha!

I need to just get a PO box on campus lol. I had my schedule set up great originally, wouldve started class at 10AM Monday-Thursday and been done by 2PM at the latest AND no classes on Friday. But I ended up needed to trade one class for another and that threw my whole schedule out of whack :sigh: . So now I'm stuck at school Monday-Friday.

It seemed like once u got into upper level classes they would stray from the Fridays for the most part at my school. Thursday became my Friday for a few years lol.

Back to the regular scheduled programming..

Going to have to find a way to seal the hole on the replacement cap off. Got some heavy moisture in the headlights after going through the car wash. It's been in there for a couple days now. Driver side was almost completely covered up with condensation, it's still about half covered.

The moisture in them is nothing new obviously. I don't think they burn hot enough to dry them out though now. I'm going to get a can of air or something to try and get it out of there. I'll probably use some heat shrink wrap on the wires and then some gorilla tape to tape it off. Thought about using silicone, but don't want to until I know I've got the bulbs adjusted good, as it would be a pain to get back in to them. Going to search for some rubber grommets with a smaller ID and possibly leave to oem bulb connector on the inside of the cap.

I was wonderin if that hole needed to be sealed up a little more...i tried pushing the oem bulb connector back through the whole but couldnt get it. So as far as the airbox goes, it pretty much just pops out?

Yea, once u disconnect the hose and the sensor (and I pulled the connector for the sensor wire out of the corner of the airbox too), you just have to tug on the box from the bottom corners. It's held in by some type of rubber grommet on each side.

Well i finally got them in. i unscrewed the collar about 3 times for positioning. cutoff looks pretty good. there are a couple of stray spots on top but i don't think it'll cause any problems. i'll try to get some pics tonight. i could already tell they are much brighter but we'll see how far they throw down the road...

Can yall post pics of how the bulb is oriented? Like, pull the bulb out of the housing and show how it looks after yall adjusted? I plan to do that with mine later after I adjust mine to how I think the cut off and output are the best that they can. It'll help take the guess work out for those who get these bulbs in the future.
