Help! 4x4 doesn't work after leveling kit install.

A buddy and me installed the Rough Country 2.5 leveling kit on 2014 Sierra Z71 (truck looks awesome by the way). Stock wheels and tires. Tried to use 4 wheel drive yesterday on some property and truck wouldn't go. I did get a rubbing/ vibration sensation when I tried to move forward or backward but it just didn't go anywhere especially if I turned the wheel. I am not wanting to go to dealership unless I have to because I don't want to be charged an arm and leg, but I gotta get this fixed. Any thoughts? Should I take it to just a local shop or go to dealer?

That sounds coincidental to me. Did you follow the RC instructions properly? I assume so.

Maybe disconnect the battery and let it sit for 5 good minutes and then reattach. If it still does it, take it to the dealer.

Thanks for the reply, yes I did as the instructions said. I will try the battery thing. The only other thing I can think of is if the axle came out without me knowing it during the install. Thanks again.

the CV's are bolted to the front diff, and they slide into the hub hearings and then bolts onto the hub bearing....

Plus, the CV's spin all the time regardless of what setting you are in, so you would know if they came out because they would have exploded.

Yes, I saw that it was bolted in on both ends so I would assume since I didn't unbolt them they wouldn't have come loose and I have driven about 700 miles since the level and no other issues.

Do you still think it could be just a coincident that I happened to put in 4x4 for the first time in a year that something would be wrong there and not related to the leveling?

Has anyone else experienced this problem with 4x4, leveled or not?

I do know that I put mine in 4wd high and low every month or so, and just drive in a straight line for several seconds, just to keep everything lubed that might not be otherwise.

Could be a coincidence. Were you shifting on the fly (while moving) or at a standstill?

Also were you trying to go into Auto/4Hi or 4Lo? Auto and 4Hi can be shifted anytime, 4Lo requires the transmission to be in Neutral.

I was at a standstill with it in Drive going into 4Hi

SHould still work, but usually you want to at least be rolling to engage 4 wheel hi or auto.
