I have a 2015 and non tow mirrors... Maybe it changed in later builds....

To clarify, you have a 2015 NHT (on the sticker in the glovebox) that doesn't have tow mirrors?

That's correct [emoji106]

Per the order guides that should be impossible. Everything I have seen has stated that camper mirrors are required for the nht package. Does it show a mirror delete line on your window sticker?

Nope...no mention of Towing mirrows on the sticker (deleting or otherwise). I think since it was built in 8/14 it probably was one of the first 15s and the rules changed afterwards. I drove one with the mirrors while waiting on mine for a week and hosnestly am glad I don't have them. I was always using the little mirrow on the passenger side....never could get used to the big mirror being "normal".

When searching my dealer came up with 1 truck that had NHT but no tow mirrors. He couldnt figure out why. He thinks they may have been swapped out. I love the tow mirrors. I love the new features, but I like seeing where my rear tires are. The lower mirror is locked on them so helps backing up and parking.

Today I drove 2 trucks, one NHT and one standard 3.42 (non z71). Honestly I did not notice a big difference between the two. The NHT ran about 300 rpm faster at 70 and maybe 100-150 rpm faster at 55. The NHT seemed a tad faster to accelerate, but I was also expecting it to. I was specifically trying to detect a difference in the ride, but if there was a difference it not enough to notice in my 10 mile test drives. Actually both were a bit stiffer than I expected but I'm used to a 17 year old worn out truck.

The tow mirrors were awesome and provided a great view. Either they didnt have power fold or the salesman didnt know how to operate them so I didnt get to see that. It was daylight but the lights in the mirrors appeared to be very bright and I thought it was a great feature. My only complaint is that they were large enough that they seemed distracting when I wasnt using them but I'm sure I would get used to that. Then when I drove the non-NHT truck the mirrors seemed tiny! I still favor the look of the standard mirror but I think the function of the tows wins over looks.

So in the end I think I preffered the NHT truck. The NHT also had leather, which were noticeably nicer seats than the cloth.

Does a standard 3.42 truck (non-z71) have a locking rear diff? It is part of the NHT package correct?

The chrome top version of the new mirror (DQS) has power fold. The black top does not.

Good to know, this one had black mirrors. I have single garage doors so the power fold would be helpful. I still like the looks of the all black better so if anyone knows if the chrome panels are removable let me know. Is the power folding part inside the mirror or is it inside the door? If its in the door maybe the dealer will swap them for me?

Does anyone know what is the overall width with the tow mirrors is?

With a 8' garage opening, I suspect I'd always be folding one in to get in and out of the garage.

I don't have an exact measurement but I was at the dealer a while back and measured them both. If I recall correctly the tow mirrors are about 3" wider on each side.

It looks like a standalone option unless you get Z71 or NHT.

Definitely interesting. I was able to look at the order guides and the Sierra required tow mirrors for nht 8/4/14 but the Silverado didn't require them until 9/15/14. Not that it matters but I was curious when they required them for nht.
