Water leak inside DS

Recommended Posts

I noticed wet floor on drivers side of my - 02 Tahoe. I can see that the water is coming from somewhere above the fusebox. When I take of the cover for the fuses I see water on the plastic. Any ideas where to look. The doorseals are not perfecy but i can not see any water coming from door area.

Olav - may not be the door seal, could be the windshield seal. Cover the fuse box and have someone run a light stream of water over the windshield to see if it leaks.

Thanks, anyone know how to remove the molding for the windshield. Are the only "clipped" og ?

I'm 98% sure it is only clipped just pull on it, there is a possibility it is coming from the windshield or sat antenna so be sure to check those areas also because it could run down windshield trim to the fuse box.

Had the doorseal of in the area where the leak is. Was not fully seated against the edge. Used some black bonding/ glue. Hopefully it will help. This is really starting to ..... me.

My 01 GMC pickup leaked there. Mine was just a small leak on a poorly designed seam between the cowl and the outer left section of the cowl. Remove the mesh vent covering the windshield wiper assembly and right under the edge of the fender there is a seam there. Check and make sure there isn't any debris building up there that makes the water run into the seam instead of just draining down the cowl.

Thanks, I will take the cover off and see if there is any debris or bad seams.

Update,

I found the leak, it came from the upper paert of the windshield and following the A-pilla cover and into the dash/ fuse box cover. I sealed this and hoped everything should be ok.... well this leak stopped but still wet on the floor. I pulled the kick panel, and the box was filled with water to the level of the hole where the kick panel clips enters. Seems like this box is filled with foam ? And shouldn't ther be a drain ? I assume this water is coming from upper cowl.
