Roll n Lock Cover, 3500HD long bed

After much research, I've about decided to go with this cover over the Retrax Pro, for my new Silverado truck primarily due to the seemingly better security and the cost savings. I needed a cover that allows wife to haul our gooseneck horse trailer, and one that she can open/close easily. The panels on the folding covers are larger and heavier on the long bed versions. Good decision?

Also, I'm wondering if any RnL owners have any problems with the locking mechanism that screws onto the inside top of the truck tailgate hindering sliding stuff into the truck? I'm not excited about the way it sticks up above the normal level of the tailgate (maybe in the way) when the tailgate is down. Anybody had any issues with that?

How about the "Cargo Management" system RnL offers? I understand now is the time to get it if I want one, and not later on. Anybody got it, and is it worth it?

Thanks for any and all input!

Richard,

Looks like you listened to my advice. I believe I spoke to you on the phone when you called my shop in Sarasota. I'm sure you'll get mainly good reviews on this site regarding the RNL.

Yes Chris, thanks for all your great advice! I still like some features of the Retrax Pro however, like the ease of opening/closing, and the fact you can open and close the tailgate without bothering with the cover at all. I did just learn however that the (non-transferable) limited lifetime warranty with the Retrax (which I had thought a huge advantage) is really just pro-rated cost (like a battery) after only three years. The Retrax is also MUCH easier to install and to remove completely.

Still debating my final decision......

Jeeze, maybe I'm over-thinking this.

It would take a lot to get me to give up my Retrax Pro! I really like the way it works and build quality on it.
