Outside Air Temperature way off

So, one thing I noticed on my 2014 is that the outside air temp display is way off most of the time, especially when truck is just started.

When I first get in the truck and turn the ignition on, I get the "ice possible drive with care" warning, and temp shows crazy cold temps (I've seen anywhere from -20F to -40F so far) even though actual temperature is in the 60s or 70s. Sometimes it will eventually go up gradually to actual temp, but sometimes like yesterday, about 5 minutes into my hour drive home it went from -40 to -36 to 34 and finally 53 after about 5 minutes of driving, then it stayed at 53 for the remainder of the drive, with actual temps between 68 and 73.

Has anyone had that problem before?

OK will do thank you! I need to take it to the dealer anyway to have them replace the rear sliding window seal and the AC/Radio panels (LED rings don't work).

I am guessing that the fact my AC blows hot air when it's in the off position is linked to the bad temp sensor?

Interestingly enough, the CEL/MIL came on today when I put my turn signal and also got a warning that the right rear turn signal was inop. I figured they were related. I went looking all over for a 7444 or 7444LL bulb and the only ones I could find were Amber (7444NA) so I bought a 7443 and apparently it's the same thing .... Anyway, CEL didn't go away so I scanned the truck with my OBD2 tool and guess what .... it has a P0071 code for Implausible signal of ambient temperature sensor. I didn't clear it so dealer can see it when I bring it in. Remote start won't work now, but I am guessing it's because the CEL is on. It's weird though that I have put close to 1000 miles on the truck since I bought it last week and the temp has been acting up pretty much from day 1 but only now the CEL comes on, OBD2 shows CEL has been on for 127km (79 miles).

I have two weather stations that are within a degree of each other at all times. I park my truck about 30 feet from one of the stations and the truck always reads a few degrees higer.

I actually also have a weather station at home (Vantage Pro 2) the sensors in my VWs always show within a degree or two from it, the Chevy's been all over the place. I have an appointment to have the sensor replaced :)

Thanks all for the help!
