Radar detector hard wire question regarding drivers side fuse box

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and apologize if this has been covered, but I cant find my specific answer to my case: I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab (no Bose system), and am trying to mount my Passport Escort 9500ix with the passport hardwire kit (see below).

I want to mount the radar on the windshield, run the wiring down the A pillar, and tap into an existing RAP wire in the fuse box under the drivers side dash, using the supplied T Tap wire connector (similar to the one below)

Can anyone point my in the direction (with a picture preferably) of a wire that I can tap into? Thanks in advance

No one has done anything similar to this install for anything?

There is no 12V power for the standard mirror which comes only with OnStar buttons and no auto-dimming.

Back to the finding a power tap. Pry open the driver-side fusebox lid; it's located on the dashboard side. Please use the owner's manual for exact location and use a plastic trim removal tool to make it a lot easier. Refer to the diagram on the lid or in the manual to find the proper connector and you won't need a tap; I don't remember anymore which ones anymore. Ground can be found at one of the screws/bolts within the fusebox area.

When routing the wires, be mindful of the A-pillar airbag module; route them clear of the module and deployment area. For the headliner edge, use your fingers to tuck them in; a trim removal tool might help to push them in further.

Also be very careful of which circuit you tie into, due to the CANBUS network the circuits are very temperamental on voltage changes. I know you will say it is only a radar detector but tapping into the wrong circuit can trigger warnings.

Yeah thats why I was hoping someone had a picture of a correct wire to tap into

I used the same thread as above for my 9500ix hard wire. I cut some slip on connectors to fit on those.

I can't help you with the drivers side fuse box, but when I did mine I ran the wire down to the box on the floor and used the smallest female connector I had to use the RAP connector. I used this thread and post #1:

I can't find the size of the female wire disconnect that fits the existing RAP connector? Do yall know what size female end is needed?

I took one just like pictured above and cut it in half to fit. I only have one rolled side. I couldnt find the right size at the hardware store maybe radio shack has one? The one I cut in half has worked for almost a year now.

Awesome, thanks. Did you do the same for the ground wire?

I had a really small female that worked for the power wire. As for the ground I used a bolt either in the side fuse panel or under the dash can't remember exactly. I put the remote button on the lip of the lower panel underneath the steering wheel. It sits there and hasn't moved.

Awesome, if you have a chance can you post a pic of where you mounted the remote
