Did anyone (Big 3) ever offer such a thing, or do they today ? (OEM option)

I saw some rock hopper types have it in the desert rock climbing comp. (aftermarket)

Seems it could work just like the rear - no ?

The Ford Raptors get a limited slip front along with the locking rear. Other than that, I believe it would have to be aftermarket.

There were some OLD Fords (1985) era that got a limited slip front as well as a selectable "locker" for the Power Wagon and several Jeeps, GM installed lockers on some of the Army trucks as well.

All GM trucks today have open front ends and yes having the front locked makes a HUGE difference as when it is open it is 3 wheel drive and which ever front tire has the least amount of resistance is getting the power while the other doesn't move.

Agreed. "Four' wheel drive is an optimistic statement. Gotta love getting stuck in the snow, getting out of the truck while in 4-Lo and drive and seeing that not all of the tires are rotating.

For a really good laugh, the Subaru STI's come with a limited slip front, a limited slip rear, and a locking center diff. Now THAT is a 4wd system.
