Mark Williams of PickupTrucks.com was at the 2015 Work Truck Show and, as expected, the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Diesel took the limelight. With 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm), the 2.8-liter Duramax Diesel four-banger turbocharged engine trumps the 3.6-liter V6 in terms of torque (269 lb-ft / 364 Nm compared to 369 lb-ft / 500 Nm).

If it gets 30mpg + on the highway a lot of people will take notice but, I wonder what the up charge will be for the setup vs the 3.6 gasser.

No question it will be more expensive.. My guess is maybe 3k to 5k more expensive.

Probably either 8 speed or 6L80E

The diesel is just new to the U.S. In Australia, the Colorado only comes with a diesel. Not sure how long the Colorado has been out there, but longer than it has been here. Over there it uses a 6 spd, so it prob will here also.

Looks good, hoping to test drive one when it's available. I wonder how resale value is as far as it goes.

Well the option has shown up in the order guide. RPO LWN:

It is at the moment crew cab only for LT and Z71. Fleet and government can get it in ext. and crew cab WT trim. No order date for it yet.
