How to remove factory tailgate protector/cap?

I would like to know how easy or involved it would be to replace the tailgate trim-cap/protector on the tailgate of my 2014 GMC Sierra...I took a few big chunks out of it while loading and unloading the other day and I would like to replace it (it looks like crap)...can someone fill me in on how to remove it & replace it? Thank you for any and all assistance!

I think it has adhesive and clips

Yup, just pull that sucker off. If some of the plastic tabs break off inside the tailgate, just remove the access panel and take them out. New one just snaps back on. EASY!
