6.0 Spark Plugs

What are you guys running for plugs in your 6 liter engines?

I installed E3 a couple years ago and wasn't really impressed. In fact, I keep thinking my mileage may have gotten worse without any performance improvement.

Right now I'm thinking about going back to the OEM plug but looking for input.

Otherwise I'm a completely stock 2006 6.0 liter V8.

Stock, AC Delco plugs are the only way to go in these engines in my opinion

When I bought my current truck the plugs were toast so I replaced them with AC Delco. Also made sure the gaps were set to 0.040" versus the original 0.060" that is on the sticker.

Aren't your plugs iridium? I think they are supposed to be. And I don't think you are supposed to gap them are you?

I thought so too when I was looking for replacements and even the AC Delco catalog called for 41-962 with a .040" gap. While looking I found this...

So I went with the 41-962. I didn't re-gap the plugs when I bought them I just made sure they were set correctly before I left the store.

That's strange, I wonder what made them decide to switch from iridium to platinum so long after these models went out of production, They have to have a reason but I can't wrap my head around what it is. Good to know though, Thank you.

Your welcome. I was wondering the same thing as my previous truck was an '06 and I put iridium in that when it was time. The electrode on the iridium did look different from any other spark plug I've seen but other than that it didn't "appear" any different. I was just happy that the double platinums didn't cost any more, actually were a little bit cheaper.

I put stock in as soon as I got the truck and will replace them long before they are supposed to be. If you've ever tried getting plugs out that have been in for too long even though they're supposed to be you'll also replace them much earlier.

You'll always be good.

Do the stock till your convinced of better, but in this day quality and a good name are taking a back seat to cost and profit so keep your ears and eye's open. Lot of guys swear by AC Delco, that maybe because of what they were, not what they are today. Just saying.

I didn't regap them as per instructions. They didn't look like plugs that could take the stress.
