Throttle Body Cleaning

Wow what a difference it made. I did MAF and TBC AMD picked up some power.

Running some seafoam through then oil and plug change.

 

Almost 300k and running like a beast!

Did you clean the backside as well and into the chamber?

Easiest way for that is key on, brick on gas pedal, tb cleaner and crappy toothbrush. Or remove it

Yes opened up used a toothbrush and shop towel. Cleaned as much as I could reach . runs so much better and it wasn't all to bad compared to what I have seen.

You did a good job. I had to take my TB off to clean the backside. It was absolutely filthy.

I personally prefer removal so you can get what you can't see on the backside.

 

I was in the same boat, bought the truck with 300k+miles and I don't think previous owner EVER cleaned throttle body. Matter of fact I only got about the first 100k miles worth off. I need to do it again to finish the job.
