Accelerator Pedal Question

I just bought my first Chevy and I'm not sure what sounds and other things are normal and what is not normal. After I start my Silverado, put it in drive and press the petal, the petal feels like it is grinding for just a second and then wont do it again. It only does this right after I start my truck and go. I tried putting it in reverse and neutral and then putting it in drive and it wont do it then. I'm not sure if this is a problem and if so, what could be wrong with it.

Think that is the ABS self check. Look in your owners manual.

My 09 after starting it and driving maybe 30 yards or so, I feel the same thing, 2 different thumps on my gas pedal. It is normal that it does that.

Some days I feel it more than others.

I just read the owners manual, and that is exactly what it is. Thanks! I have been having trouble with one of my speed sensors causing the ABS to engage randomly sometimes, so I have been weary of any kind of grind in the petals.

The wheel bearings are fine and the sensor has been replaced but the ABS is still engaging. I think it could the exciter ring on the axle that is causing problems.
