Last Date To Order A 2015?

I've been hearing "May sometime", but my dealer can't/won't confirm anything.

 

I need to wait until the very last minute and order a 2015, so it's important to me.

I just put in an order on april 21st. I ordered a 6.2 and they said those are on restriction for right now so it might not be accepted ill find out tomorrow if it is or not. I'd imagine 5.3l you would be able to for a little longer but who knows.

They can't confirm a date because it depends when they have orders to fill all the remaining production 'slots'.

 

(The more orders on the books, the sooner they will stop accepting them)

I wonder if they are changing something about the 6.2/8-speed, or are they just so wildly popular they can't make enough this MY.

My sales guy just told me that they are under restraint right now...idk if its because there are a lot being ordered right now or just gm is only making so many

Oldest marketing trick in the book is to 'restrict' supply.

I think there's a legitimate shortage, for whatever reason. I tried to order one back in January and had the same problem. The dealer (Sewell GMC in Dallas) said they were having trouble ordering that motor in several models. There was a 2 - 3 month backlog. I didn't feel like waiting so I went with the 5.3. I don't tow anything and I've been pleased with it so far.
