I'm looking at the Nitto Terra Grappler and the Mickey Thompson/Dick Cepek Radial F-C® II myself.

One drawback I can see with the Nitto, is that there are no raised white letters on the tire.

I'm not a fan of BFG, and I have a set of the Bridgestone Duellers on one of the trucks. So I'm looking into a few others.

Let us know what you decide.

Ouch, we talking some money there. The most reasonable tire I found was the Dunlops, but I am going with the BF's and coming up with the extra moolah. Did I read correctly on those Mickey T's? $285 each? But you sound like you have the money if you dont like the BF's. I cant afford to be that picky. :jester:  :jester:

Any tire the size your looking for will run you some pretty good $$$.  If you have an Americans Tire or Discount tire store they sell a tire called "Pathfinder" which is actually made by BFG.  It will run you about $130 each in that size I think.  Check out Tires for exact pricing.  I have '35 Pro Comps that I paid $170 each for and so far am happy (have 1,500 miles on them).  Good Luck!  :jester:

Went looking at tires on my lunch. My wifes Jeep has a set of Sport Kings I put on it that seem like decent tire and I dont ever hear anything bad about them. A buddy recommended them to me. They handle good too. (As good as they can on a dam chrysler product). Well anyway I know they are made by Cavalier tires and when I bought them over a year ago the guy told me they were an offbrand of michelin. Now I have heard they are and off brand of BFG?????????????? These tires are good for less than 100 each. And they have the full white letters I like. Tell me somebody knows something about these tires. Also, I am wanting 295/70/16's, what does that equate to in the other measurement? These tires grip like crazy on ice. ???

I had a set of 265 Sport Kings on the Blazer a few years back. I had no complaints. Got about 40k miles out of them.

When I bought them, the guy told me that they were BFG...Just an off brand. But I have no way to prove that.

If you are looking for reasonable price, and the best warranty, go to Big-O. They have AT tires with a 60k mile warranty. I have had a set of Big-O's on the Blazer, when I lived in Denver, and they did great in the snow and Ice.

Just got off the phone with the only Mickey T dealer in OKC, he said $790 mounted, balanced, and out the door for 4 Radial FC-lls....285's. Kinda pricey, yeah. They also cannot even be ordered until next week. Brand new line of Dick Cepeks, I guess.

The Nittos, I can get for around $700 in a 285.

I got the nitto's 285 for $110. nice tire

Thats less than I was quoted, but I didn't dicker with him yet either.

Plus I asked for an alignment with it. Thats why the guesstimate is a little high.

I got a tire rim combo from discount tire with the road hazzard protection, mounted, balanced and shipped for $1009

the only bad part is the rims.  fully pitted and stained from the past winter only 5000 miles on them

michelin and BFG are one in the same.  Two different tires owned by the same company  :jester:

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I will check with them in the next few days, and see what they will do for me.

As far as the pitting goes, you could always just drive around smacking curbs for a few days, and take it in claiming "road hazard". :jester:

Right.

I think I am just going to sandblast them and have them cleared.  maybe, who knows, need to do something

But do either of them make the Sport Kings (Cavalier) tires?
