Can any of the new Canyon or Colorado 2WD owners tell me if the midsized trucks ride any better than their fullsized big brothers.(smoother)Thanks

If they own a midsize truck, they probably don't know how the full size ride feels.... You may want to stop by a dealership and drive one to see for yourself. That's they only way to have a good comparison really.

Many factors come in to play as well. The truck suspension package, brand of shocks, tires, wheels, 2wd vs 4wd.

I was looking for the opinion of someone who traded in or switched from GMT800 or GMT900 to the new "Midsized" truck (Which in my opinion is about the same size as the old GMT800 trucks) If it compares or "feels" like a small truck. Thanks for a reply finally though.

Guess I misunderstood exactly what you were asking, sorry about that.

I actually got to test drive a Z71 suspension package Canyon yesterday afternoon and it felt pretty much the same as my Silverado, maybe a little tighter? Other than that, it was nice and smooth and surprisingly roomy for a smaller truck. Much better than the S10's that's for sure.

My understanding is that both sizes of the current GM trucks ride quite well. Any decent dealer would be happy to provide some test drives.

The new midsize trucks are as long as full-size trucks used to be, but they remain narrower.

I owned a 2012 Z71 Silverado and no doubt it was a very nice truck, it beat me to death on bumps, had a zero turning radius and compared to my Tahoes and Yukons which are full sized, it was a tank to drive daily. I finally couldn't take it any more and was about to purchase another Tahoe until I saw the Z71 Colorado in person. Man although it's called a mid size, it has plenty of room in the cabin and rides like a dream in comparison to my 2012 Silverado. I was sold immediately. It has so much versatility. Not too big and not too small. I can't speak for the current model Silverado but I was so tired of my 2012 Silverado, the Z71 Colorado offered everything I wanted plus it drove very tight and smooth. Loving this ride!

Thanks a bunch man!!

May I ask, did you test drive a 14/15 Silverado/Sierra before your purchased your Colorado? I have read that the K2XX's are an improvement to the GMT900's. Possibly like the OP, I am going back and fourth on the midsize vs fullsize. The Colorado, I think, fits my liftstyle better, the the pricing is 10x better on the fullsizes.

I have to echo what DJC said. I traded my 2011 GMC Sierra 4x4 for the 2016 Canyon 4x4. I went with the All-Terrain package which has a stiffer suspension. The ride and handling of the Canyon is superb. The Sierra is huge compared to the Canyon. The Canyon a more refined, capable and civilized truck. It is nothing like the previous configurations. I love to drive this truck now. The wife loves it! There is plenty of room in the short box for what we haul. The V-6 engine has over 300 Hp which is more than my 93 Z-28 Camaro! Plenty of leg room in the passenger rear seats as well. The Infotainment system is flat out amazing! The Apple CarPlay in the 2016 version is a great supplememnt to my iPhone. I do not regret my trade to the Canyon. I am eagerly awaiting the launch of the Canyon Denali.

I owned a 14 Silverado High Country, now a Z71 Colorado. Both 4X4. The Colorado is a sportier, more nimble ride. The Silverado was great but the ride a bit softer. Definitely test drive both, but I don't believe you will be disappointed with either.
