A bead up the nose...

My 3 year old daughter decided to stick a plastic bead way up her nose.  The wife and I couldn't get it out and didn't want to send it up any further so a trip to the emergency room was needed.

It cost $225 to have it removed!!!  (Thankyou blue Cross).  They stuck a small suction tube up there and out it came!!!

It seems as though neither the bead in her nose or the removal of the bead bothered the little girl.  We never would have known it if she hadn't told us!!!  it was far enough up there we needed a flashlight to see it!!!   :(

Shane, don't waste 225 bucks next time.  I'll do it w/ a shop vac for 20 bucks :(

She huffed and she puffed but that sucker was stuck!!!!

When I was a kid, I stuck one of those red hot candies up my nose. Ouchy!

I'm glad she's okay. Nothing worse than having a sick/injured kid. You'd rather go through it yourself than have them have to go through hardships.

shop vac is pretty powerful, garunteed to suck the bead out, and then some. :(

When I was a kid, I shoved a roaster peanut (no shell) up my nose. My Dad got it out with the vacuum cleaner.

What posesses(sp) us to put things in our nose when we're kids?!

Glad it worked out for your daughter.

Yeah that reminds me when I was in highschool, a buddy of mine got an unpopped popcorn kernel stuck in his ear and had to have it removed at the ER.

Mom tells me I used to eat dogfood too when I was a kid, but it never required any visits to the doctor.

Anyways Shaners, glad your daughter is ok.  It's scary to think a child could get injured or maybe choke in that type of circumstance.

LOL, same here.  Mom said I not only ate our dogs food, but I knew where their friends kept their dog fod too.  :D   I did eay one of those Gaines Burger dog food patties once in High School, on a dare or something.  Kinda like eating play-doh, yuck.  :lookaround:

Glad your daughter is ok Shane.  :(

Heck, I'm glad to hear that I was not the only kid to eat from the dog's bowl!  :(

Shaners, glad your daughter is OK, though.

We had a really scarey one happen to my daughter when she was around 8 years old, got a piece of hard candy stuck in her wind pipe.  I was out in the back yard working on god knows what, and she came out the back door gagging, and turning blue - I gotta say, guys (and gals) I have NEVER been so scared in all my life.  All my wife remembers is me suddenly up on the deck with the daughter upside down.  Luckily it fired out OK.

Shaners, be glad you found a way to solve the problem so quickly.  My wife said she's been looking for a way to get my head outta my @$$ for over 10 years.
