2012 Transmission Problems

OK so my 2012 Silverado has 84xxx mile and has been problem free for the past 3.5 years until this last Saturday when while accelerating to get on the freeway it made a weird down shit during acceleration then picked back up again. While on the rest of the way home it acted abnormal lets say and when I pulled to the light it went into what it felt like was neutral and when I took of (Lightly) from light it jerked into 1st.

So I took it directly to a dealership local and they have had it since. From what I have been told they pulled it due to metal shavings in pan. Spoke with the service director Yesterday and was told I will have it back by today and that its being rebuilt under warranty (thank goodness).

Has anyone else had an issue similar to mine?

What issue did you have? I say this in the sense of what did they find caused your transmission issue and what part explains the metal shavings in the pan?

I haven't got any major details as of yet but I. Was told clutch plate's are being replaced.

The Tech rebuilding the transmission WILL write personally on the work order what he did in the" correction "

section , he WILL put down what failed in the "cause " section of work order

Is this the first time you've had a repair done and it have seen a work order receipt ,,, ? The tech ALWAYS writes what he does and finds

OK here is the out come:

Tech stated - Found pump coming apart, scored bell housing abd pump cover 8465050 8 hrs R&R trans disassembled found pump scored 3-5r drum leaking psi 4-5-6 clutches burnt 1-2-3-4, 2-6, low & rev clutches glazed. Replaced ( re-manufactured converter), pump bell housing, pump cover, slide. replaced all clutches ck clearances on all clutch packs, flushed cooler lines.

Cost to customer = Zero dollars -

Drove truck to work (have a company truck I drive normally) this morning and zero issues.

My only cost will be having to take it to my muffler shop to properly seal my after market exhaust system ( several exhaust leaks) due to it not being OEM they could not re attach properly.Which I am doing this today

Pretty happy with the out come as it seems I have pretty much a new tranny.

Bummer about the trans. The 6-speeds have been pretty reliable and beyond sloppy shifts in some cases I don't read about many complaints or issues. Glad they got it fixed!

True 6 speeds have been from what I've researched "bullet proof". I do have a lot of performance mods and do not drive it like an "Angel" so being covered under Warranty is a blessing to me. I'm Shocked no questions where asked.

Also this is the 2nd time I've had it in for a repair. 1st time was to replaced both motor mounts. Which I did drive it while they were broke before I noticed it and took it in for repairs so this could have played a part in the transmission's failure.

Motor mounts had nothing to do with broken tranny
