22" Tire Sizing Info??

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new to tires and wheels, so does anyone have recommended tires/tire sizing info on 22" wheels? I am looking at these bad boys: http://www.shopchevyparts.com/wheels/2014-sierra-1500-inch-wheels-high-gloss-black-ck160-sew/19301160-p-92277898.html

I don't do anything extreme. Just driving in the city to and from work, running errands, etc...

maybe (if i ever do) go light off roading for fun

Thanks in advance!

You could always put on 285/45r22 bridgestone dueler AT like gm does from the factory. that's about the biggest you can go without rubbing control arms and sway bar on stock offset wheels.

Something like this http://www.onlinetires.com/products/vehicle/tires/bridgestone/285%252F45-22+bridgestone+dueler+a%252Ft++d693+110h.html

But I think GM uses AT Rh-S which are slightly different.

I think you are right. I had them on my truck for a week. But I wanted the 20" wheels on my truck so I had the dealer swap them on the next new inventory they got.

They are these:

I wonder if they're the same +27 offset as the other stock wheels? Have you checked your control arms and sway bars? Most people can't feel it rubbing, but you can see the marks. I have 305/45r22 dynapro atms going on +31 dub ballers next week. I'm anticipating the purchase of some wheel spacers.

You could fit that that size without a level, the problem is the rim offset, causing rubbing on the suspension components not the wheel wells.

so my wheels are coming in on friday and i plan on getting my tires from either Costco or Discount Tire. I decided to go with 285/45/22 all-season tires. no offroading looks cause i'm going for a classic look.

Costco offers:

Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza, Dueler A/T REVO 2 (eco), and Dueler A/T RH-S

Discount offers (Top 3 filtered on highest reviews):

Bridegstone Dueler H/L Alenza

Nitto NT420S, NT421Q

Falkin Ziex S/TZ-05

Any opinions?

Look into the hankook dynapro atm, I just put them on my truck today and had them on my last truck. They ride almost as good as street tires and have a slightly more aggressive look than all seasons. They get reviewed great, tread wear is great and they're cheap!
