GMC Sierra Spray in Bed Liner Issues

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just had the bed liner sprayed in by the dealership and just doesn't look right to me. I have had lin-x in my previous trucks and it was very thick and very tuff around 1/8" thick. This liner looks very thin and feels softer. I would say the thickness is only between 1/64th and 1/32nd of an inch. Can anyone tell me what there factory or dealer installed bed liner looks like and thickness? It was sprayed in 4 days ago and a bucket managed to scratch part of it today.

Thanks,

I had a rhino liner sprayed a few weeks back and it is considerably thicker than that. never used linex...

Rhyno states 1/8" to 1/4" depending on area, and line-x goes for at least 1/8" thickness. I have found some sites dying GM's liner is about 1/16" thick, but from what I can see on mine it's about 1/64" to 1/32 " thick. Just too thin for me.

I had my liner dealer installed (Mckinney GMC in Plano TX) It is really thin like yours and has already peeled in a few impact areas. I called the sales guy he told me it has the 3/36k warranty. I will wait towards the end and take it back for a respray... I live 4hrs away.

I had mine done by GM, ordered it and its way thicker than that. Your dealer is the problem not GM for sure..

I'll snap some pics at lunch.

Here is the GM thickness from factory.

Would only point the finger at the dealer and who ever they trust to spray their trucks.

I had mine sprayed by my dealer and they use Armorthane. The texture looks similar to OP's but mine might be a little bit thicker. Definitely not 1/4" though. Most likely in that 1/8" area on the sides and bottom of the bed. I'm not too worries as I don't usually haul rough or sharp objects in my truck bed.

Yeah I am going to have them respray the entire bed, just doesn't look right, and already has spots. They better get it right this time. I haven't paid them for it yet and will not until they get it right,

A few pictures of mine vs. one done at the factory. A very large difference in thickness which results in a large difference in quality and performance. Ill get some more when they respray it. Hopefully sooner than later.
