IntelliLink/MyLink Issues

Hi Gang-

I have a 2015i Duramax Denali and I can say it has the worst radio performance of any car I have had and I'm a GM guy...slow as molasses, frequently gets confused, USB is slower with iPhone than bluetooth, which is odd. Many settings have to be redone each time car is restarted (shuffle as example).

I had the radio "updated" when I had the headlight update done and I was in/out in 1.5 hours which I thought was odd given others on this forum say the radio update alone should have been 2+ hours....so i looked at the HMI version and it is the same as before went in. My questions to the forum are:

- Is there anywhere to see that the latest/greatest software update is for IntelliLink/MyLInk?

- What have others done to have dealers fix this issue?

- What are the software updates I need to do (radio, vs. HMI, etc)?

I love the sound (best out of GM yet in truck), but slowness is driving me insane.

All help appreciated!

Would honestly like to hear this info as well.

I'm sitting at the dealership right now waiting for them to come out and tell me "Sorry, but we couldn't really do anything to fix the problem".

The Infotainment system on my 2015 Double Cab is pathetic. The lag when performing the most basic tasks is reminiscent of windows 95 after four years. Changing stations, going from nav to weather to Audio to Nav, ect.; the system lags. The lag also affects the backup camera. There are times when the backup camera comes on after I've backed up and shifted into drive. This alone should be cause for concern on GMC's part since the backup camera is a safety feature some with sensors alerting you to objects in your path. What good is that if you back into something and then hear the sensor. (just imagine that happening to someone with a short temper).

Aside from the infotainment system, the truck is a wonderful achievement in engineering. Smooth ride, comfort in the cabin, great power. Though I've still yet to see the MPG be where its advertised at, around 18??

Anywho...sorry to get off topic. I just wanted to chime in and say that I'd like to be in on this curiosity of an update?

I share your feelings about the shortcomings of the IntelliLink/Infotainment system. I have experienced many of the same problems. I did manage to work around the shuffle issue by changing from my ipod to a flash drive as the source of my music. So far, it is retaining the shuffle on setting all the time. But, it is definitely a finicky system.

On my 2014 shuffle is controlled by the settings on the iPod. Change your iPod to shuffle and it will default to shuffle every time.

My iPOD was set on shuffle (I have all of my iPods set to shuffle), but the Sierra shuffle overroad it. It worked alright, but it reverted to the off position whenever the ignition was turned off.

Thanks Guys -

Does anyone know if there is anyway/where to find what software version to ask for? The dealer/service (who is normally great) seemed confused when I asked for latest/greatest Intellilink SW, which is why I think they did not update HMI. I saw on a Caddie forum the the HMI upgrade helps. I also saw on that forum they are tracking versions of users and mine (built 12/19/14) is an early '14 version. Seems odd given all the complaints and its a 2015.5.

I would LOVE for a GM customer rep who monitors this forum to tell us how we can know what the latest/greatest version is, or atleast where we can point the dealer for the info. The system is driving me nuts...
