tow mirror install help

I bought the tow mirrors for a 1500 sierra and everything was going well until putting them in. There is an extra bolt do you need to drill a whole or cut it off? and after plugging them on the led built into the mirror doesn't turn on in reverse or with the cargo lights on. I've read they are supposed to turn on with the cargo lamp switch.

I'm pretty sure that extra hole has to be drilled (in a factory marked location). As for the spot lights and the running lamps, I can't recall if the correct answer is you need coding at the dealer or if you simply need to hardwire.

i think ill just take it into the dealer and have them deal with it...i also have a hid conversion kit that confuses the shit out of me and have no idea what to do with anything about it. Guess ill just bite the bullet and pay someone instead of me screwing something up. Trying to get my door panel back on i kinda screwed it up a bit and still never got and seal against the window to go back on right and scratched a few places.

While I am a strong adept of DIY, I think you're on the right path. If you don't feel comfortable doing something yourself, especially with electrics, it's better to just bite the bullet and take the safe route. Good luck with your truck!
