I know there is a lot of talk about Programmers voiding warranty here's proof of the onstar diagnostics report showing that I have a after market device plugged into my vehicle's diagnostic port, I'm not out hot rodding, hauling ass, racing down a track, I just have it for fuel efficacy and to change my computers tack for tire size, I have 37" tires, so I'm comfortable having it installed on my truck, besides if any thing where to happen doesn't GMC need to prove that the programmer cause the failure or problem that has accrued to my vehicle ? just click on the pic the blow it up

I know programmers destroy diesel engines, I had a H&S programmer on my 2008 Ford F250 King ranch and it blow my head gasket, but has any hear of a programmer destroying a gas engine?

I got the reason you did it, but I don't think it is the manfacturers' responsibility to prove your added aftermarket device caused a problem. It should be your responsibility to prove it didn't. I would go to the dealer and get it in writing your aftermarket device will not be an issue if making a warranty claim, otherwise you may be at the mercy of each independent dealership and they have the problem in writing, your Onstar diagnostic report.

That's true, I was showing others who may have programmers or thinking about getting one that it can be tracked that you have one installed throw the diagnostics plug, I had mine for about 10,000 miles already and have had no issues with it and I don't plan on having any, knock on wood

With the Black Bear autocal you don't leave it plugged into the data port. You plug it in change the program in the computer and then unplug it and put it in the drawer. If you need to revert to stock you reverse the process. I had my 2009 tuned for 3 years and never got the message you did from On-Star.

I may be looking into one of them, that's a good idea, but can it detect a flash being done to the vehicles computer

Programmers don't destroy diesel engines. There are thousands upon thousands of guys running tunes on diesel without a problem.

well, my 2008 F250 didn't like the H&S programmer, but then again I was dogging it daily

My understanding is that regardless of what Black Bear, Diablo or any other tune company will tell you, the 2014+ trucks have a flash counter that cannot be reset. The # of flashes will alert the dealer/GM that there was probably a tune done. If there's a problem with the motor or drive train I can see how they might not cover under warranty.

Until I can get better info to the contrary about the flash counter, as much as I want a tune to clean up the crappy performance/drivability issues, I'm staying away from a tune.

My dealership sells the Edge programmers and installs them. I've got one installed on my truck by them.

I had a Range AFM delete unit plugged in and got the same message from On Star. Removed Range and got a DiabloSport Intune and just turned off AFM. No more errors. I was also having some intermittent errors with my AMP Plug N Play PowerSteps when the Range was plugged in. Step issues are gone now as well as On Star errors.

but will it still show as being flashed? and cause a warranty to be void,
