Deep Tint package

Recommended Posts

I just bought a new Sierra 5.3 DC 2wd with the Elevation package. The window sticker says that it had the deep tint added to it but my two front windows are not tinted.

My question is, Are the front windows included in the Deep tint package or did the dealer forget to tint them?

Welcome to the site!

No vehicle comes with factory tint on the front windows as it is illegal in several states. Deep tint will be rear windows only (again, this is a factory pkg, the dealer doesn't do anything).

I would put something over the back windows too. Factory tint doesn’t provide very much UV protection. You can do something light if you dont want it darker.

If you want your front driveside and front passanger side windows tinted as dark as possible without getting a fix it ticket just have your family doctor write a " prescription" saying you must have these windows tinted due to the fact you have sensitive eyes to sunlight. A friend of mine does this very thing. He even has the windshield tinted darker. Its not something I would ever do. Hell I want people to see me in my truck. Haha

Match the fronts to the rears which will be around 35%.(down to 20% with factory tint on the windows already) The rear factory tint is fine. I live in central Texas and have no issues with heat or UV.

I am about to get my truck tinted and am trying to decide between 3M Crystalline vs 3M Ceramic. I'm doing everything but the windshield.

Any thoughts on which option offers the best looks and performance (looks being the more important consideration)?

I have an Iridium Sierra, by the way.

Crystalline performs better, has a more bluish tint IMO. I'm pretty sure the whole purpose of crystalline is so your car looks like it doesn't have a tint. The Ceramic has a more smokey look to it.

Be careful following this advice. Depending on your State laws, you may not be able to have your truck inspected, funny prescription or not.

Many States do not allow tinting of the windshield for any reason. Absolutely nothing other than the factory tint at the cery top of the windshield. The Dr. excuse for 'sensitive eyes' can be taken care of a 100% legal way, with the use of sunglasses.

It may not look cool to others but it is much safer for you and others driving in the dark.
