IntelliLink Went Completely Haywire?

I had a very strange issue happen yesterday with the voice command lady who speaks through the system on my '15 Sierra Denali. I had navigation running on my Samsung S5 so I could hear directions to my destination through the speakers. I was also listening to a YouTube song via Bluetooth when I received a text. I flipped to the text app to read it. I didn't respond and flipped back to YouTube. As soon as I pressed the play icon on the video to resume the song the lady that would speak navigational directions and other stuff started talking and no music was heard even though the timer on the video was moving. It wasn't just that the lady was talking, she was just saying single random letters and numbers with no discernible pattern at all. Her voice was also different. The best way I can describe it is that she sounded like the old style Google Maps lady's voice that was more robotic than the current voice.

It was definitely an "ummmm wtf is going on here" moment. I closed all the apps assuming it was the phone doing something weird, but she just kept up with the jibberjabber. I started messing with the phone and all the features seemed to be functioning normally so I began to suspect the truck instead. I then tried switching to the radio feature and the truck didn't respond. I then press the main power button the radio. It showed the mute icon the top left of the screen but she was audible. The volume knob still worked so I had to turn it all the way down because she was going for a solid 5 minutes straight and I couldn't take it anymore. I had to pull off the road and turn the car off. When I turned it back on, the phone connected via Bluetooth and everything was back to normal. I've had the car since January '15 and this is the first time this has happened. Is this a known issue?

I've had the phone for probably 1.5 years now and in other cars I've done the same app combinations before and never have had this issue. I'm thinking it was the truck since the phone acted normal during all of this, but I really have no idea. I don't even know how I would begin to try and reproduce it because it was just so random.

Was it a group txt by chance? Mine does this if I listen to a group txt.

No, it was a single MMS with text from the girlfriend. I thought at first it might be Google Maps and she was trying to say the GPS coordinates or every letter on the YouTube page. But after a few minutes I couldn't pick up on any pattern at all.

When I got a picture text from my brother one time and chose to read it, it started reading through the "code/link" of the picture, which some can be thousands of letters/numbers

Hmmm I wonder if that is what happened. Maybe she got stuck reading all the code behind the picture. That's pretty crazy.

Mine does that in pictures and group messages. I just stopped listening to them while driving. It's prob a destination code or group code

I actually had to shut my truck off for it to stop reading it, couldn't just power off the radio or anything, would still be reading through it.

This must be it because it sounds like the exact same issue. Now I'm curious what made this MMS different because she has sent me pictures before while I was driving.

Nudes?

Some that were very close. I responded to her saying "I just drove into a ditch."

Wait, you said you heard numbers. You didn't happen to hear 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 did you?

Probably, but I don't remeber her saying for example "sixteen" but she could have said "one six." That's a damn good show though.
