Just wanted to update this, trailer tows the best it ever has. Adjusted the hitch back to where it was originally, and with the sumosprings, it tows great. Still a giant sailboat behind me that the wind likes to push around at times, but other then that, smooth as can be.

thanks all for your help and suggestions.

Rosco,

Do you still tow with the R6 WDH?

I recently bought one and I'm dealing with sway.

Any suggestions?

as for suggestions, what size trailer? I assume you've played with adjustments?

Reflection 285BHTS
UVW 7695
Loaded 9000 +/-
35'-7"
Hitch weight I would say 1000 lbs max.

Im using the R6 1200 lb bars.
With a 150 crew cab

I'm fighting sway, all else is fine. Pulls level, and straight. Little to no proposing.

Yes tried all adjustments I could think of, to hitch and weight in trailer.
Even called camco did there suggestions.

I think you've just maxed the truck/hitch out. Your rig is larger than mine. I think at some point, the rig is over powered by the size of the trailer, and the sway control isnt enough.

Truck is rated for 16,000 lbs trailer.
Camco keeps saying the hitch is correct for TV / TT combo. Just don't know why I'm getting sway.

Besides this is new trailer.
My last one which I started this WDH was 2500 lbs lighter. And had sway issues just did get it figured out before trading it in.

The combination of “a 150 crew cab” and “rated for 16,000 lbs trailer” is news to me.

I'm not saying I would ever attempt to pull that.
That's just what the manufacturer states its rated for. Which I'm fully aware is based on math not real world. My combined truck & camper weight is less than 12,000.

have you had the truck/trailer on a scale to get actual weights?
Not officially..
We have a scale here at work.
I took truck across and truck/trailer across.

The more I thought about it yesterday I think I'm light on my tongue weight. I might try to get a tongue scale.

My old unit only had front storage.
New one has front and rear. I initial spit the gear in half. But all the interior stuff (dishes pots pans etc.) is behind the wheels.

Like I said it pulls great, except it sways just a side to side constantly. Not white knuckle sway just a side to side wagging.

You said you upgraded your truck in the other post.
What issues were you having?
I assume sag being you mentioned the sumosprings.
Did you have non wind sway?
Did you have power issues?

It was more control issues I had. Trailer really felt like it over powered the truck, and when it moved, it took the truck with it. I added the sumosprings to try and help me control it more. Power, yeah, my 09 only had so much. It pulled it, but nothing like my 15 with the 6.2.

I think you may be onto something with lack of tongue weight. I did something similar. I added the sumo springs, but at the same time, I adjusted my hitch some to take off some tongue weight. boy was I wrong. what a mess the trailer was towing. Put the hitch back where I had it and it was a lot better. And tha side to side wagging you describe is a lot like the mess I felt.

What series truck do you have now?.

My concern is no matter the tow vehicle the wagging is gonna happen, bigger truck you might not feel it but its still there. That's what the WDH is designed to do eliminate sway. And if its not gonna work I need to find one that does. I like the design of the R6. Now I may have a weight issue that I'll have to work on.

I wanted to see if anyone else had any issues. There's almost no reviews on the recurve hitches.

I had an 09 Silverado 5.3 CC

I now have a 15 Sierra 6.2 with the max trailer package.

the WDH will only work so well if its not set up right, that includes a proper tongue weight. I'd start there.
