WildWilt15 Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 Talked to GM infotainment support last night and was very happy with the way we talked through my issue and decided it was neither a problem with my truck or my phone but a problem with the communication between the two. The dealer that kind of blew me off is getting a phone call from them on how they want to proceed to fix my issue and if need be an Engineer should come out to investigate.

Potts Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Its a no-go on the settings I turned everything off and back on but that probably wouldn't do anything. Was worth a shot. I assume you've also deleted and repaired your phone as well. That's all I've got : (. Good luck and glad to hear the infotainment folks want to help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
puppydog1 Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 can i get group text messages on mychevy link or just texts from a single person?
TheJiggs Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 Hey everyone, I know I'm late to this party, but I created an account just to add a possible solution. Several versions ago, the concept of "Chat" was introduced to SMS/Text in Android. I recently upgraded my phone (Pixel 5), and every text message received from someone with a newer phone resulted in the encoding being read on my 2015 Sierra. I did some testing and figured out it was always someone with a newer phone that also supported this Chat feature. To eliminate this, I went into the Android Messaging app and clicked the "..."button in the top right. Then Settings Then Chat Features Disable Chat Features (turn slider off) This turns off things like read/delivery receipts as well as the indicator that the other party is typing and reverts your phone back to the basic SMS functionality as opposed to using the Chat feature. My truck no longer reads the encoding!
