Has anyone bought & installed the bracket gm23264893 before the lines Crack & the freon leaks out? If so does it come with instructions as where exactly to install it? I'm thinking just go ahead & fix it before a problem happens. Thanks in advance!

Excellent info, I'm going to go zip tie mine together with about 50 zip ties and order bracket.

@TDT take some pics while you are at it.

After the Weather finally let up, I went out to investigate my AC lines and found out that mine have been updated to a new style that doesn't require the bracket. I don't have the muffler on the line and I don't have the hook in the line where they are cracking at.

I had my bracket replaced about 2 months after the first time they replaced the faulty line. So far it has been working all summer. Although it's no longer blowing anywhere near as cold as it did from day one.

Where would I look to see if I have this bracket? I cant seem to pinpoint it

Just follow the condenser line down to the A/C compressor.

I did not see a bracket, but my line doesn't have any muffler.

My Silverado is a June 2015 build. May install one anyway.

When was your Silverado built?

So which line do you have installed now? The one with a muffler or the one without?

I posted this on the other A/c thread, but her ya go....

I finally have a chance to post.

My dealer took my 2014 GMC Sierra in without an appointment, gave me a Cadilac STS loaner (blah), and fixed the a/c, recharge, and new bracket. I came prepared with a print out of the known issue and the bracket that needed to be installed. So they gave me no bull shit. While it was there they did my inspection for no charge.

The repair bulletin PIT5331//OP.CODE 4415010

Part numbers Description

23438932 Hose 9.225

23264893 Bracket 9.242

12356150X 12356150 1LB134

The jury is still out on whether it blows as cold as before. I say no, my wife says yes.

Thank you for the information I'm heading to the dealer to get the stuff & fix it before it breaks!
