Removing 3rd cat

I have a 2015 sierra with a super 44 flowmaster. Removed the resonator and valve as well. Now I am wondering if I should either remove the 3rd cat or even gut it. It's just a dummy cat anyway since it isnt monitored by a O2 sensor. So wondering who all removed theres and how much does it change the sound. I want it to be a bit louder. I was told that it will make it deeper sounder, however not sure if that's true. I would like to stay away from a super deep sound. Just want it to be a bit louder. Some insight would be great!

Even with aftermarket muffler an no resonator?? I heard it doesnt change much when you keep the rear resonator in place as that soaks up the noise. However with it gone and a aftermarket muffler I was wondering if it would be different.

I don't know about the sound since I put true dual exhaust and removed the third cat at the same time. However, it seems to me that it would make it breathe better without the unmonitored cat.

I gutted mine out. It changed the tone but not by much. As far as removing it purely for sound, it's almost as pointless as GM even putting it in! Lol.

However I will agree with Tom that it helps the engine breathe much better

I gutted my 3rd cat first with stock system and no change...The 3rd cat is dead weight as far as I'm concerned and I'm sure it frees up some exhaust flow when removing it. I then removed the cat completely and installed a 3.5" MBRP system. The interior on these trucks are really quite don't be scared just do it...!
