Backup camera idea

I would like to be able to turn the camera on any time I wanted though instead of just coming on in reverse.

I had a camera that plugged into an Edge CTS on my last truck and could turn the camera on whenever I wanted. Made hooking up the trailer easier and I'd use it for short periods while towing to be sure nothing was going funky with the hitch.

If I had the schematics and the time I could probably figure out how to do this. I mean it gets power while in reverse. So if we switched it to keyed power instead of something coming off reverse......add switch......it might work. Flipping the switch would be the same as switching to reverse I would think as far as the whole screen interface is concerned.
