Just a question. Or point me to a thread where this is mentioned? Did anybody do a muffler AND a resonator delete? I've heard the muffler delete and want something a little louder. Straight from the first 2 cats to duals is what I'm interested in. I'm going to get some kind of tune/programmer to disable the AFM.

Thanks in advance fellas

I had my truck just the stock 2 cats then the 3 inch pipe into 2 2.5 inch pipes before the rear axle. no mufflers or resonators or 3rd cat. was incredibly loud. I loved it but driving anymore than 10 minutes it was excessive had to throw my flowmaster super 40 back in. I wouldnt suggest it for a daily driver but its your choice if you want crazy loud go for it

deleting the resonator does make a huge difference. i replaced my muffler with a flowmaster super 44 and kept the resonator. drove with it a day and wasnt satisfied as i didnt get the noise i wanted. removed the resonator the next day and BIG difference. really happy with my set up now

Thanks guys I appreciate it! I'm probably gonna try to do that first. When you remove the 3rd cat did it set off any codes?

No it doesnt. there are no sensors behind it its basically just another resonator

So doing this wont throw any codes or void warranty with GM since its past all the sensors correct?

My service manager was told by the mechanic that changed my oil that I had removed the 3rd cat, He mentioned it to me when they were finished and I asked was that a problem and he said no not really and in his mind would not void anything. It does not throw any codes it's not a monitored cat just some California Bullshit!

Did you find with the resonator in it sounded like stock? Or was there just not as much noise as you preferred? I just got the super 44 installed and the shop recommended deleting the resonator, I find it just a little to noisey for my liking, and might get the resonator put in, or another one. Thanks
