LED Headlight Mod Sierra 1500

I just put these in my truck last week. They've been great, 100 times better than stock or the led opt7's i had in before. Very easy to install, no trimming and everything fits with the cover on. Just have to make sure the led's are at the 3 and 9 position. I highly recommend them.

When installing you need to put the bulbs in with the LEDS facing 3 and 9 o'clock.

Just make sure the kelvins match up and the colour should match up.

So 9012 LED headlight kit from Xenon (6000k)

Match the LED fog kit for (6000k)

Or if buying replacement bulbs match (6000k)

 

You can always Google Kelvin scale and read up on it a little more.

Sorry, I was refering to the xenon depot 9012 leds. Like sierra15at said you have to make sure the leds face the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock position. The opt7s are are brand that I had in before these, they were awful.

The depot 9012 look like they are a flat material... are these the lights, and is this what gets inserted into the bulb..you can tell im lost huh? Sorry, I am new to all of this modification mumbo jumbo...lol

The yellow squares in the picture are the leds. If you decide to get them you wont be disappointed. Below I drew around the part that goes in the bulb socket that replaces the stock bulb. Also all the wires and ballast (or whatever it is) fit in the housing with the dust cover closed. Hope I'm not confusing you.

The only issue I have had is the orientation of the LED squares. When you twist to lock the bulb in, they must sit as close to 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock as possible. This could mean that you twist the bulb just enough to lock instead of twisting as far as it will go. In my case, if I twisted as far as the bulb would go, the LED squares were closer to 6 and 12 o'clock and the beam pattern was off. I ended up turning the lights on and twisting the bulb until the pattern looked right. Since the install, they have stayed in place. Note: I was told by CS if the bulbs were not snug, you could replace the O ring with the one from the original bulbs. I did not need to do this. Also, if you decide to order them, be sure you are committed to the product. According to their return policy this is not something you want to send back just because you don't like them. That being said, their CS has been excellent.

They work well and are a cheaper alternative to some that other guys are running. They are 6000k (same as the 9012 LED headlight kit)

That's for replacing the driving lights.
