92 sierra almost dies while under load

Hey All, I have a 92 sierra 2500, 5.7 with 110,000 miles. I have had issues lately while driving it feels and sounds like the fuel gets cut off for about a half a second and then comes back. It has been happening more and more lately. I The fuel filter, which was my first thought, only has less than 2000 miles on it. I has recent plugs, wires and cap and rotor. What could be causing this? I hasn't done it at idle...yet, only when I am driving down the road. Thanks, Brett

If it cuts out very abruptly then it is probably due to losing ignition. Does anything else electrical die at the same time? If so, check and clean the connections at both ends of your battery cables and any ground wires you can find. Otherwise it might be the ignition trigger in the distributor. They tend to fail under a load when the distributor tries to advance. They may work fine at idle but have a bad connection when the plate moves.
