Clearcoat on rims flaking.

I bought a used 2015 gmc 2500 duramax. I now have about 31,000 miles on it. It has the extended bumper to bumper warranty to 46000 miles. The front rims have small areas of clear coat bubbling mainly near the valve stems. Is this covered under warranty? Sure seems like it should be??

Take it back and ask. The worst that can happen is they say its not covered, then you raise some hell and have them replace the wheels. I'm sure they can't say its wear and tear from where you said its bubbling, besides this could mean that there is more happening on the inside of the wheel that could lead to a larger problem down the road. I'd make them take the tires off and inspect the wheels thoroughly.

they all do it - eventually

yours is just showing up early

just a small amont of road salt sitting on the rim will get it started - and spread

All 4 of mine were replaced. Had to wait awhile for mine. The factory in China caught on fire. Took about 2 months to get replacements.

You're kidding, right? The wheels come from China?

Yep China, the factory that blew up killed a lot of people and that is why GM was scrambling throwing old style wheels on the new trucks.

No he not kidding. The aluminums are China, the steels for trucks are Canada.

I bought it used but has bumper to bumper till 48k. I have 32k on it now. Also, dealer I bought it from is further away. Think if I go to a local dealer that will have any impact?
