Replacing drivers seat foam - LTZ interior

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am wanting to replace the bottom seat foam in my 2008 Silverado. It has the LTZ interior. They are the bucket seats with full power (tilt, lumbar, heated, etc).

How do I replace the bottom seat foam? Do I need to take the whole seat out? Does the leather just snap off and how is the cushion held on to the frame?

Any how-to's out there?

Any good place other than dealer/gmpartsdirect to buy the foam? One forum said that TheSeatShop had more dense foam that was better than OEM.

Would anybody happen to also have a part number?

You do not have to remove the entire seat that model year BUT it is easier to do so, it gives you more room to work.

The leather is just snapped to the foam and is easy to change. Just be careful not to break any of the snaps when removing the leather from the foam.

Removing the seat is just 4 bolts and unplugging a few plugs under the seat. Do yourself a favor and remove it, that makes the job much easier.

The OEM driver seat foam is

Part # 15243904...........should cost around $100
